We live in an attention deficit world where people’s time and attention are commodities.
Check out this insightful slideshow on how to get people’s attention on social platforms by the awesome Gary Vaynerchuk.
I used to think social media was about just about pasting a stream of text heavy links on Twitter and Facebook. I used to use HootSuite or Tweetdeck to simply paste about 6 or 7 tweets, the same links across all platforms, and program their publication time.
After reading Gary’s book, I changed my approach.
What I learned
- I learned Facebook users prefer images and less text.
- I learned on Twitter that you couldn’t possibly launch your own hashtag. Instead, I learned about high-jack trending hashtags with clever content.
- I learned, instead of Tweeting about me me me (brand or personal), tweet like one of your buyers, instead.
And so much more.
Buy the book
Gary’s book is fantastic. If you’re looking for ways to maximise your ROI of social media, and in this case, the “I” is your time – your time is expensive – and the ROI is ultimately conversion, then get this book.
P.S. If you buy the book Jab Jab Jab via this link (it won’t cost you a penny more), we receive a tiny affiliate fee which contributes towards maintaining Mindful Sales Training. I hope you consider buying through this link so I can keep giving you helpful content.
