1. Believe in your value
Yes, obvious and abstract, but I’ve seen many people get on the phone without this and get no where. Taking a second to remind yourself of how you’re contributing builds up this invincible force inside you
2. Remember your purpose
Cold calling can be draining and demoralising because you will face a lot of rejection. Reminding yourself WHY you’re doing what you do will be the wind beneath your wings
3. Focus on time, not numbers
I’ve worked in companies where numbers are set as a target, so you have to achieve XX number of effective calls a day. When you at it with that approach, you’re focussing on the end as opposed to the means. Instead, set aside fixed time each day and just be present, giving each and every call your fullest attention.
4. Make your introduction them focussed instead of me focussed
This is an area people always get wrong and it’s a big reason people fail. People only care about themselves, so focus on them.
5. Persist
Most people give up after 2 or 3 calls. That’s why they fail. When you persist, you will succeed.
