When it comes to helping people improve their lives, Tony Robbins is the Jedi Master. Tony has helped the lives of millions of people around the world through his books, audios, and live events, and he’s equally made a positive impact in the business world.
I’m a huge fan of Tony, I’ve read two of his books and listened to several audio CDs – he’s made a huge positive impact in my life.
These are four sales insights startups can learn from Tony:
- Know your purpose. In your day-to-day sales world, you MUST have a sense of meaning. Going to work each day, plugging away at your email and making calls on the fly isn’t going to cut it. Before each day begins, you have to know your plan and what you’re going to achieve that day. State your purpose before each day, and notice how this makes you feel.
- Focus on positive in each moment we decision how to react to events and circumstances around us. Each decision effects the actions we take. There will always be challenging times and setbacks when you’re selling. But it’s how you respond to them that makes the difference. Chose to focus on the positive. Ask yourself, “what’s good about this”, and then act from that space. Doing so, keeps you in a positive state and ready for the next opportunity.
- Be aware of consequences every action you take has a positive or negative consequence. It’s not just about being courteous, but is the action you take contributing towards your desired outcome.
- See the brilliance in everyone sales is ultra competitive, and people put themselves out there all the time. Understand that everyone – prospects and competitors – has a purpose, they’re all trying to figure things out and do their best, so don’t take things personally when things don’t go your way.
