2 Sales questions to ask that will help you sell more
A question I’m often asked is, “If I’m supposed to talk less in sales meetings, how do you get people you’re selling to, talking?”
Listen to this week’s podcast to learn 2 sales questions to ask – there’s a whole science behind questions, but here are 2 super simple questions to get you started.
After selling to 1000s of people around the world, from Tottenham Court Road traders to government officials in Ghana, the two absolute best questions to ask people to get them talking, are:
1. What’s exciting for you right now?
2. What are your biggest challenges?
Always ask the questions in that order.
Question 1 gets them talking about their favourite subject. Them. And people LOVE to talk about their successes. This question opens them up. Then, when you ask question 2 they will have opened up and then tell you their REAL challenges. And when you learn their pain points you’ll discover exactly how you can serve them.
Don’t make this common mistake
Absolute key is to LET THEM ANSWER THE QUESTION! Most people feel the need to show how clever they are, especially startups, so they talk or interrupt and talk. But you have to suspend your ego and let the other feel more important and clever. This way you can be of real service.
